Miss Mexico is the 2010 Miss Universe! Miss Philippines Finished 4th!

Ms. Mexico Jimena Navarrette Rosete took home the crown as Miss Universe 2010 which was held earlier in Las Vegas. She was just the second Mexican to be crowned Miss Universe. Our very own Ma. Venus Raj made it to the Top 5 and finished as the 4th Runner Up.

The Philippines' very own Ma. Venus Raj may not have won but finishing as 4th Runner Up was the closest that the Philippines got in the world's most prestigious pageant after 10 years, the last time that the Philippines made it to the Top 5 was in 1999 when Miriam Quiambao finished as 1st Runner Up. I have a piece of trivia about Ma. Venus Raj, I heard that during the day that she got her passport to make her eligible to represent the Philippines for the Miss Universe, that was the same day that planet Venus, Mercury and the Moon aligned together to form a smiling face, maybe her future in the Miss Universe pageant was written in the sky.
