Another Pinay Made it to American Idol

Another Pinay made it on American Idol Season 10, her name is Thialorei Lising “Thia” Megia, 15 years old. So far Thia made it to the Hollywood round, and there are rumors that she have managed to made it to the Top 40 and has a big chance of advancing to the Top 20.

But so far all we have are rumors and speculations, we have to wait until the names of the quarterfinalists and the finalists are announced. In the History of American Idol, three contestants with Pinoy blood have managed to make it to the Final 12, Jasmine Trias in Season 3, AJ Tabaldo in Season 6 and Ramielle Malubay in Season 7. This time, on the 10th Season of American Idol, it's Thia Megia, how far can she go?

I just wonder, why do Filipinos feels so exaggerated  everytime we hear that a Pinoy makes it to an international contest like American Idol? First of all, they did not join the contest to represent the Filipinos or carry the Philippine Flag just like in the Olympics, they joined because they want to live the American Dream and make a name for themselves.Yes we should be proud of them, but are they really proud of their roots?
