Kris Bernal Joins the Cast of Machete?

There are reports that Kris Bernal will be reuniting with his former love team Aljur Abrenica in Machete. Yup, Kris Bernal will join the cast of Machete to replace Gwen Zamora whose character will be killed.

If this happens, Machete will be Kris' next TV series after top-billing the no. 1 afternoon soap in the country Koreana which will be ending soon. Gwen Zamora on the other hand will join the cast of another GMA afternoon soap Alakdana.

GMA Network's move to put Kris Bernal in Machete is a bit desperate, they separated the AlKris Loveteam for good, now they are bringing them back together again to save Machete from it's slumping ratings. When the Kapuso Network separated the AlKris loveteam, it was evident that Aljur was the one they are building up to become a big star in GMA, he was getting all the big breaks like being paired up with Rhian Ramos in Ilumina, he had his own album and now he is the starring role in Machete, while Kris Bernal was demoted back to the afternoon block after The Last Prince. Kris Bernal even attempted to switch to sexy image just to revive her career.

But look how things turned out, Kris Bernal's Koreana is the no. 1 afternoon soap nationwide, while Aljur Abrenica's Machete is constantly being beaten by ABS-CBN's Mara Clara, and now they need the help of Kris Bernal to save it's ratings. 

And GMA-7 should stop talking about that Machete Diet that Aljur used to achieve his sexy figure because it doesn't make any sense because the televiewers are not buying that. Aside from Aljur's hunk body, Machete hasn't proven anything yet, it only did well on it's pilot telecast and after that the feedback that, the feedback that it was receiving was awful. Aljur Abrenica doesn't know how to act like a primitive man and the script and the story is so boring. I've seen the episode last night and the storyline has gone from bad to worst because Ryza Cenon's character was possessed by the spirit of Karen Delos Reyes who is seeking revenge from Machete and Aginaya whom she believes betrayed her. And there was this weird dog like creature that was sent by the possessed Ryza Cenon to find and kill Aginaya.

And what about Gwen Zamora? Before Machete started airing, there were a lot of publicities being released about her and Aljur. Aljur keeps saying that he's got a crush on Gwen and that they are close, but now Gwen's character will be killed. Gwen and Aljur's characters haven't even met.

The story of Machete is going nowhere, and it lost it's consistency due to it's low ratings, and there were also rumors that Machete will end earlier that planned if it continues to be unpopular with the televiewers. And this could be the fate of the wooden warrior named Machete, Sisibakin na at gagawing panggatong!
