Lee Dewyze is the American Idol Season 9 Winner!

The paint store clerk Lee Dewyze is the American Idol Season 9 winner. Lee Dewyze's popularity to the audience prevailed over Crystal Bowersox who was always the judge favorite since day 1.

Lee Dewyze won with just a narrow 2% votes over Crystal. Lee was the fifth male to win American Idol and the third consecutive after Season 7's David Cook and Season 8's Kris Allen. The other male winners are Ruben Studdard and Taylor Hicks.

Lots of performance in this years finale from former American Idol winners and finalists and big names from the music industry were present in this years crowning of the newest American Idol. Former American Idol judge Paula Abdul was also present to give a special tribute to Simon Cowell who is set to leave AI to focus on his talent search X Factor. which is coming to the US sometime in 2011.
