Ellen DeGeneres Plans to be a Tougher American Idol Judge Next Season

Ellen DeGeneres had a wonderful first year as an American Idol judge in the recently concluded season 9 of America's most popular talent search. Well guess what, Ellen DeGeneres will still be a part of American Idol Season 10, but do not expect to see the same old Ellen who was always giving constructive criticisms to the contestants, Ellen promised to be a little tougher next season.

Ellen DeGeneres told in an interview that she will be a little rude to the contestants as she returns to the judges table in AI Season 10. Here are her exact words via: MSNBC.com

“Your first year anywhere is going to be tough, because you’re trying to figure out what your role is. I think next year my role will be to be exactly who I am, sometimes funny and sometimes serious, and I think I'll probably learn to be a little harder on people without being rude. But I think it was a fine line for me to walk this year,"

Say goodbye to the nice Ellen. If last year she was giving words of motivation and sometimes cracking jokes to the contestants, what do we expect to see from tougher Ellen DeGeneres? But if you're thinking that Ellen will just be doing a shift to fill for the departed AI judge Simon Cowell, that's not quite the case, because Ellen strongly believes that Simon is irreplaceable.
