Kapuso Executives Admits Loss in the Ratings Game

GMA Kapuso Executives Atty. Felipe Gozon and Mr. Jimmy Duavit admitted to the press that GMA-7 currently suffering a momentum loss and that the network have been loosing the ratings game due to lackluster programs. The Kapuso Executives had a luncheon meeting with selected press people last Monday of June 21, 2010 and they answered several questions regarding the ratings issues.

Atty. Gozon did'nt denied that the Kapuso Network have been loosing to ABS-CBN in the ratings and had this statements via Philippine Entertainment Portal:

"I hate to admit it, but you are correct," pag-amin niya. "And the thing is, we're trying to do something about that.

Ano sa palagay nila ang dahilan kung bakit tila nagbago na ang ihip ng hangin?

"E, siguro naging kampante," sagot ni Atty. Gozon. "I have been worrying about that, you know. Maybe that's why people say it's easier when you're running after somebody than [when] you're ahead. The tendency is to take it easy, just do the same things you have been doing before. But that is wrong.

"In this very dynamic industry, you have to be ahead of everybody, even the viewers. You have to get what they want to watch next week. Ang hirap nun, e. That's why I enjoy this job more than my law practice, honestly! Sa law practice kasi, sa tanda kong ito, wala nang bago, e. All you have to do is, you research the jurisprudence, e, di alam mo kung anong law ang ina-apply ng court. E, dito, lahat bago dahil nagpapalit. Talagang ang bilis!"

"Panday Kids was bad... It was not like the Panday [the movie]," sabi niya. "Siguro may mga sawa na rin at saka parang more of the same. They want something different. I think that's what is happening in the... Kaya tingnan mo, for example, ang tagal-tagal niyang SiS. Siguro mga sampung programs yung nagpalit-palit sa kalaban niyan sa ABS. Nakatsamba sila bigla sa Showtime, talo agad yung SiS. Kami ang magpapalit ngayon."
Great guts coming from the dynamic duo of the GMA Network, they finally admit that the Kapuso programs were really loosing the battle in the ratings. Unlike before, they keep on showing stats coming from AGB Nielsen just to show that GMA is still leading the race and they keep saying that they are No.1. Now they have finally decided to humble themselves. Actually Panday Kids was'nt only the worst program that they had, Totoy Bato and Ang Babaeng Hinugot sa Aking Tadyang was also bad. The Last Prince is bad too, watching it is like watching a cost play Kapuso Network wake up!
