The Kapamilya Network is yet to reveal who will portray the "Mara Clara" of this generation, we will have to wait and see. "Mara Clara" is the story of two girls Mara and Clara who was raised from two different worlds. Mara (Judy Ann Santos) was raised from a poor family but grew up with a kind and pure heart, while Clara (Gladys Reyes) was raised by a rich family but grew up so spoiled and twisted, but they are yet to discover that the lives they lived should have been the other's and a diary was the key to unlock the chain of fate.
The original "Mara Clara" ran from June 22, 1992 to February 14, 1997, it is actually the longest running telenovela in Philippine Television. But in this generation, I don't think that ABS-CBN's revival will ran for such a long time. And I thought that "Mara Clara" is one of the old school soap opera where the lead character is always slapped and beaten by the antagonist, I'm not so sure if this generation still accepts that trend, looking at the teleseryes of today, the lead characters are no "palaban" and will not allow themselves to become martyrs, we will have to see if "Mara Clara" will become another primetime hit the second time around. And one more thing, who among the Kapamilya actresses would you want to portray the role of Mara and Clara? For me, I want Erich Gonzales to do the role of Mara and Kim Chiu as Clara.
