QC Court Junks Willie Revillame's Appeal

Quezon City Court junked TV host Willie Revillame's motion to dismiss P486 Million Counter Suit filed against him by ABS-CBN. Judge Luisito Cortez of the Regional Trial Court Branch 84 ordered Revillame to post a bond of nearly P427 million not later than Oct 27, which will answer for any damage ABS-CBN may have suffered with the airing of Revillame’s new show “Willing Willie.”

We would recall that the court also denied ABS-CBN's  motion for  Temporary Restraining Order to prevent TV5 from airing Willie Revillame's game-variety show "Willing Willie" which premiered yesterday (Oct. 23, 2010). ABS-CBN expressed disappoinment over this decision. Here is ABS-CBN's official statement:


“What Willie did is a violation of the contract he signed with ABS-CBN, which will expire next year. ABS-CBN only wishes that Willie fulfills his obligations under the contract. Honoring one’s contract is important,” it said.

“We are disappointed that no TRO was granted vs Willie. Let us not forget that the root cause of all these issues is Willie’s disrespectful behavior and threat vs ABS-CBN management. We believe that justice will prevail and the truth will come out. We will continue to fight for our rights.”

Well, it looks like ABS-CBN failed to  stop Willie Revillame newest TV5 show from airing, now their only chance to get even with Willie is the P486 Million suit, Willie was just so lucky that TV5 Owner Manny V. Pangilinan is on his side, Willie Revillame has align himself to one of the country's most influential entrepreneur no wonder he has the guts to defy the Kapamilya Network. This is a very familiar situation, it happened before whe Rosanna Roces walked out from her GMA-7 Exclusive contract, the Kapuso Network attempted to stop her from transferring to ABS-CBN by filing a suit and freezing her contract but GMA-7 failed. Its the same thing that happened when GMA-7 Director Ipe Pelino transferred to ABS-CBN along with his talents Long Mejia, Dagul and Isko Salvador despite the fact that they have an existing contract. Although the Kapuso Network failed to went after them, GMA had the last laugh because they were not fortunate to have success outside GMA-7.

I think that ABS-CBN should just release Willie Revillame since they are claiming that the network is still leading in the ratings game despite the loss of Willie. And consider the fact that TV5 is not a major threat like GMA-7, how many times did this network had a reformat and changed ownership and it didn't worked, TV 5 programs couldn't even make it to the top 10 programs, they just got lucky with "Talentadong Pinoy" but up to now there are still no signs that TV5 is posing a threat against ABS-CBN or GMA-7, TV5's Sunday show "Party of  5" couldn't even beat QTV's "Sine Kalasika", so why shoul the Kapamilya Network get bothered with Willie's transfer? And I also remember that when Willie Revillame was fired from the noontime show "Masayang Tanghali Bayan" he also transferred to ABC5(formerly TV5) and did the game show "Pera o Puso", TV5 was then under the ownership Tony Boy Cojuanco, but that show didn't last even for one season and got axed immediately, and after that he came back to ABS-CBN for "Wowowee". So my suggestion to the Kapamilya Network is to just let that guy, babalik yan kapag nadala.
