This is one proof that Regine Velasquez still has the star power, despite of the young and new talents that has emerged during this generation, Regine Velasquez is still the reigning Diva of OPM. There are some factors that may have been the reason why "Fantasy" became a bestseller within just two weeks of sale, probably those sexy photos of Regine which are included in the CDs. But I think the reason for the success o this album is because "Fantasy" consists of 2 discs, disc no. 1 consists of 12 original tracks and disc no. 2 consists of 10 revivals. Those 12 original songs could have been the reason why people bought it despite those testimonials that OPM couldn't match the popularity of foreign songs. The composers just have to work hard, write new songs had that would keep the Original Pinoy Music alive.
This is how you say that an album is a bestsellers, within just two weeks it hit gold, unlike those testimonials from Star Records that Jovit Baldavino's debut album was selling like hot cake, it took almost one month before that album went gold. That album consist of those songs that Jovit sang during his "Pilipinas Got Talent" plus some minus one versions, buying that album was like throwing your money into the sewer. Peace!
