"Burlesk Queen" features the story of a burlesque dancer. This film earned Vilma Santos her very first Best Actress trophy. One particular scene that I remembered in this film was Ms. Vilma Santos was doing a burlesque dance, unaware that she was pregnant, then suddenly she got her baby miscarried and blood was flowing through her legs. That scene was a classic and "Burlesk Queen" will forever be remembered for that scene.
Now going back to Marian Rivera, I absolutely agree that she could do "Burlesk Queen", she is so fit to do the role. She got that beautiful, innocent looking face, she got that amazing sexy body and most of all Marian is such a great dancer, I'm sure that she could give justice to the iconic role popularized by the Star of all Season.
But the problem is, Marian Rivera made a promise that when she did "Darna" on GMA-7, that is the last time that she will do sexy a role, as in "todo na yun". Is Marian Rivera going to drop her wholesome image for this film? I sure hope so because "Burlesk Queen" is such a huge project and I believe that Marian Rivera is the only actress that can portray the role sexy but not looking too indecent.
