Captain Barbell Has Amnesia

I watched Captain Barbell last night, Richard Gutierrez/Teng finally appeared after colliding with the giant asteroid as Captain Barbell to save the world from cataclysm.

And just as I predicted, Captain Barbell/Teng had an amnesia after the massive collision with the asteroid, he is now somewhere in Benguet after he was found by villagers and gave him a new name since he cannot remember his identity. The conflict of the story now is how will Captain Barbell/Teng would recover his lost memory and after he does, he has to look for that breast plate/barbell that makes him invincible as Captain Barbell.

This new development in the story of Captain Barbell is so predictable and the televiewers have seen this in the past. In Richard Gutierrez' first telefantasya "Mulawin", his character "Aguiluz" also had an amnesia, in the movie spin off of the said TV series, both Aguiluz and Alwina(portrayed by Angel Locsin) lost their memories after a tragedy at the sea. Can't the creative team of GMA-7 think of any other storyline for their TV series? No wonder Captain Barbell is the weakest primetime program of the Kapuso Network.

But I see some bright side in Captain Barbell, I like it that our hero survived the asteroid collision alive, at least they gave credibility to my favorite childhood hero Captain Barbell and showed that he is indestructible and not even a giant asteroid could stop him, except from his only weakness "askobar". And at least the GMA-7 creative team did not used another of their favorite storyline where the hero dies, caught in the middle of life and death, them someone from another world will appear and gave the hero some tests and if he/she is successfull he/she will be granted another chance to go back to life, that's what happening in "Amaya" right now and it happened so many times on almost all the GMA-7 telefantasyas.
