7 Things I Learned From The Luna Blanca Finale

"Luna Blanca" had it's finale last week. I stay tuned and made sure not to miss a single episode and as I watch it, I have come up a list of  7 Things That I Learned From The "Luna Blanca" Finale.
1.GMA-7 writers are still struggling - One example is the character portrayed by Carlos Morales called Diego/Devolas which is supposed to be an elemental being from another world. He supposed to have paranormal powers but why does he have to lock Lani Mercado inside a room, why not use his magic to imprison his captive instead. And in the entire run of "Luna Blanca", there was this magical key shaped necklace which causes Carlos Morales to loose his power everytime he is near that thing, but during the final face-off, that thing didn't worked and it had to turn into a dagger to kill him, I think that's inconsistence.

2.Mark Herras is still not a leading man material - Over the years, the Kapuso Network did everything they can to make a leading man material out of Mark Herras, but sad to say, he is not that kind of guy they want him to be. Mark Herras couldn't move on from his "Bad Boy of the Dance Floor" image and he is overshadowed by his leading ladies Bianca King and Heart Evangelista. And it seems that Mark Herras has been left behind by new comer Alden Richards.

3.Bianca King still needs more depth to her roles - Bianca King has been working with GMA-7 for such a long time but her push is just starting. Her role as Luna was indeed challenging because she had to cover her pretty face and do a role which everyone would laugh at and be discriminated because she looks different. But when the story calls her to transform into a beautiful angelic face, she was still that same pretty girl next door who gets everything she wants.

4.GMA-7 took a page from an old book - The loyal viewers of "Luna Blanca" should be very familiar with the song which features the voice of Jonalyn Viray. That song is called "Ang Mundo Ko'y Ikaw" which started playing since part 2 "Luna Blanca". That song was also used on GMA-7's top rating soap "Bakekang".

5.Mark Herras and Heart Evangelista looks so good together - I mentioned in number 2 about Mark Herras's lapses as a leading man but Heart Evangelista covers all of that. "Luna Blanca" is actually the second time that Mark Herras and Heart Evanglista worked together as love team, the first one was in "Langit Sa Piling Mo". Both of them show perfect chemistry together and I think that the Kapuso Network should pair them more often.

6.Camille Prats is the Queen of GMA Primetime - The Kapuso Network have always considered Marian Rivera as it's Primetime Queen, but for me, it's Camille Prats who deserves the title. During the part 1 and 2 of "Luna Blanca" where Camille portrayed the mother of Luna and Blanca, the ratings were consistent but in part 3 where she had to be replaced by Lani Mercado as she becomes an adult, the ratings fell and the entire story was a lack luster.

7. "Luna Blanca" is the best GMA-7 soap so far - Despite the lapses I mentioned, I would still consider "Luna Blanca" as the best Kapuso Primetime soap so far. Over the years since "Encantadia", I was looking for a GMA-7 that would leave me glued to my sit and would make me tune in up to the end and it was "Luna Blanca". And so far it was the only GMA-7 Primetime soap which I really anticipated the Finale.
