Bianca Gonzales was recently involved in a Twitter war against AlDub fans who were offended by Bianca's mysterious tweets about fandom that seems to be criticizing AlDub fans effort to make their favorite loveteam trend on Twitter.
Bianca did not hesitated to answer the fans' tweets to defend her side. According to Bianca, she wasn't referring to AlDub fans alone, was expressing her concerns about teenagers who put too much pressure on themselves to make their favorite stars trend on social medias.
These habit according to her could affect the teens' study habits. Very well said Bianca, but I don't think anybody would want to believe you. Even I could post something in my blog referring to someone, but it will be easy for me to deny that I was referring to a certain star. This is just a defense mechanism to avoid being bashed by raging fans.
The Kapamilya and the Kapuso stars were always been like these, when they are trending, they celebrate, they thank the fans, but when they're not and the other does, they would say "itigil yan! Kababawan yan! Nakakasama yan sa kabataan! Nakakasama yan sa kalusugan! Nakakamatay yan!" It's a part of Filipino culture to get insecured and jealous whenever others receive success, they always need to criticize and doubt the victory of their fellow.
Are'nt the Kapamilya Network also taking advantage with the fans' clamouring? Are'nt the Kapamilya Network also posting hashtags for their Kath-Niel and Jadine so that they too will trend on twitter? Are'nt Bianca and all the PBB people also posts hashtags for Twitter and invite people to vote for their favorite housemates by texting? That's more consuming because the fans has to spend for cellphone loads, instead of saving, students will have to buy load so they could support their favorite housemates but they would get nothing because should their housemate win, would he/she share the prizes to the fans? Now that's what you call wasting efforts.
The clamouring of showbiz fans for their idols is not new. There was even a novelty song titled "Movie Fans" that talk about how far the fans would go to support their beloved stars. These is the same way they act during the Pip and Guy era, and the That's Entertainment generation the only difference is the boom of social media. It's a new medium for fans to show their love and support for their favorite stars. And how do you explain living inside one house and proving yourselves worthy to a ridiculous voice over who calls himself "kuya"? Isn't that "kababawan"?
As long as the two network giants are using social media to market their stars nobody from both camps has the right to tell the netizens that what their doing is "kababawan", if they think that fans are crazy exerting efforts making their idols trend in social media, then I suggest they delete their accounts and stop using social media to promote their stars and programming.
And for those who say that the people should prioritize social issues rather than these noontime wars, give us a break! We all have had enough of the ridiculous politicians and the bigtime corruption, watching TV and our favorite stars help us stay positive and enjoy life. Don't take it away from us.
