Magpakailanman is Trying to be Controversial

What's happening with Magpakailanman? Lately it was featuring real weird stories about adultery. Last week it was about a woman who muled her husband to have sex with his lady boss to have money. And just recently this week, it featured the story of a young man who had an affair with his step mother.

I was actually not only referring to these two particular episodes, there wer also some previous episodes of Magpakailanman that talked about sex, and adultery. Is the creative team of GMA's weekly drama anthology trying to get controversial throug thes series of themes? Take note, these stories are actually stories of real people, so it just means that the researchers and writers are exerting efforts to find these people and have their lives featured in the show.

What happened to the show that features values and inspiring stories about people who succeed over difficult trials? Magpakailanman's host Mel Tianco says that these stories teaches values, but does it need to feature stories like these? I think these stories about "kabit" or mistresses are just isolated case, but the media seem to turning it into a normal stage in every married life. You as a parent, what would you do if one day you saw your kids playing with other kids and mentioned "layuan mo ang asawa ko kabit" and when asked them where they heard about that word and replied they saw it on TV?

I think that these entire "kabit" stories on TV is going too far. The TV station have been exploiting it all for the sake of ratings amd trending worldwide on social medias. Having an elicit affair is a crime against the law and God, it isn't a way to be cool and to be proud of. It shouldn't be treated as a trend. Althouth the MTRCB classifies these show as an SPG or Strict Parental Guidance, everybody knows those are just fancy signs flashed on TV screen, kids will watch these show anyway.
