Anime Voice Actress Yuko Mizutani Dies at 51

Anime voice actress Yuko Mizutani has died of breast cancer at the age of 51. Mizutani was voice behind the anime characters Sakiko Sakura of Chibi Maruko Chan and Sora of Digimon.

In Japan, voice talents are equally popular to TV and movie stars, they have their own followings and some voice talents even made it to become Idols

Another sad news has hit the anime industry as the original voice actress for Chibi Maruko Chan's Sakiko Sakura and Digimon's Sora, Yuko Mizutani, has passed away at the age of 51. She was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Mizutani first voice acting job was in the first Mobile Suit Gundam series where she took the role of Sarah Zabiarov back in 1985. Her recent work was in Sailor Moon Crystal where she was the one who portray the voice of Ikuko Tsukino. The voices for the Chibi Maruko Chan episodes that will air this May 22 and 29 have already been recorded by Fuji Tv will announce a new voice actress that will succeed Mizutani at a later date.
