The original creator Akira Toriyama is plotting the story and designing new characters including the new Future Trunks The new arc follows the conclusion of the current arc called "God of Destruction Champa". Goku and his friends will once again encounter Future Trunks whom they first met during the "Cell Arc". Future Trunks returned to the present after defeating Android 17, 18 and Cell and attained peace. Future Trunks returned to warne Goku and allies about a new future's enemy.
Toriyama teased that the new enemy is called "Goku Black". He also teased that the Future Trunks Arc will also involve both the Gods of Destruction and the Supreme Kai. See more about the story here.
