ABS-CBN Pirating GMA Talents?

If you thought that only DVDs and VCDs are being pirated, not actually. Because piracy is also happening in Television. Not actually the piracy that we all know, where the so called Pirates are producing duplicates of original Films, CDs etch. But piracy of talents where TV Networks offer huge amount of talent fee to an actor or an actress from another network to acquire their service as an exclusive talents.

Let's take the two major networks in the Philippines as an example, of course there are only two giant networks in the Philippines, ABS-CBN 2 and GMA 7. There where several occasions where ABS-CBN acquired GMA talents, just like Angel Locsin, who originally started in GMA but now she is an exclusive ABS-CBN talent. That move was controversial because Angel Locsin was at the peak of her career in GMA, but she decided to move to the Kapamilya network. At that time the actress' camp had many alibi's. One was about her schedule, she said she is not getting enough rest due to her tapings, but who would believe that? Nowadays when an actor or an actress move from their respective network to another, it could only mean one thing, talent fee, maybe she was she is getting double or triple of her talent fee in ABS than GMA.

Just this past months Regine Velasquez almost move to ABS-CBN, the network offered her the role of Betty La Fea, only her signature is needed to make it official but in the last seconds she backed out and decided to stay in GMA 7, according to rumors she will do the Filipino adaptation of the Korean series Kim Sam Soon, and she will also do a movie with her boyfriend Ogie Alcasid.

And the latest star who is rumored to move to ABS is GMA's most priced possession Richard Guttierrez. Up to now there are still no confirmations fro the actor's camp whether he will transfer or not, I'll just update you about the latest developments.

Now why is ABS-CBN pirating GMA 7 talents? According to a GMA executives, "don't they(ABS-CBN) trust there talents?" It's quite true, ABS-CBN has many rosters of stars, why don't they give them chance to show their stuff? Why do they need to spend just to acquire talents from GMA while they have a lot of stars with no projects?
Or is this just their strategy so that GMA will loose their banner artist?
