After staying in the American Idol for a couple of weeks, Kristy Lee Cook was finally ousted from the contest last night, along with her at the bottom three were Brooke White and Syesha Mercado. It was indeed a though week for the finalists as they sang hits from Mariah Carey who is considered as one of the brightest diva in the music seen.
Earlier in the show the judges stated their category in judging the contestant for this week, and on of it is that the contestant should be able to reinvent their song rendition and to sound different from Mariah Carey. Of course David Archuleta was applauded once more as he sang "When You Believe", and Carly Smithson sang the now very popular Youtube sensation "Ken Lee", no no no, that was "Without You". But in that performance night David Cook's own rendition of "Always Be My Baby got most of the applause and it earned a thunderous standing ovation even the three judges agreed that David is indeed ready to be a recording artist. Simon Cowell also said that he admired David because he is not afraid to take a risk.
David cook really did a great job that night because "Always be my Baby" was the hardest song to interpret, and it's hard to make it sound different from the Mariah original but he did it, he turned it into a rock song. Even I got impressed with his performance.
Now going back on Kristy, she was finally eliminated after a long run,since she started in the semi-finals, she was always in the bottom three but always gets away with that pretty face. But last night I think she ran out of luck and now the finalists are sliced down into just six and the competition is getting more exiting. The end is nearing and soon American Idol will crown its newest winner for this season.
