Arnel Pineda Faces Complaints for Re-arranging our National Anthem "Lupang Hinirang"

Arnel Pineda is the latest casualty of the National Historic Institute after he tweaked the Philippine National Anthem "Lupang Hinirang" during the Pacquiao-Clottey fight in the Cowboy Stadium in Dallas. Arnel Pineda hit a high pitch note at the last part of the "Lupang Hinirang" which according to NHI is not in accordance with the arrangement of the composer Julian Felipe. The National Historic Institute said that they are now filing a complaint against Arnel Pineda and if proven guilty, the singer will be fined a worth of P5,000 to 20,000 or spend one year in jail. That's too bad for Arnel Pineda, why do he had to use our National Anthem as his diva moment? Was he thinking like he was on American Idol? Everybody knows that he can sing but he should'nt have done that. He murdered "Lupang Hinirang". He became the lead vocalist of The Journey but he could'nt even sing the National Anthem properly, did'nt he learned from the people who sang "Lupang Hinirang" in Pacquiao's match in the past like Martin Nievera. And for the National Historic Institute, all you do is bragging that you're gonna file complaints against those violators but none of them were ever fined show an example guys.

The National Historical Institute said Sunday it was filing a complaint against Journey lead singer Arnel Pineda for changing the tone and tempo of the Philippine national anthem when he sang it before the Pacquiao-Clottey bout in Texas.

Pineda sang "Lupang Hinirang" (Beloved Land) during Pacquiao’s successful bout against Joshua Clottey of Ghana on Saturday (Sunday in Manila), his powerful, high-pitched voice filling the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

MANILA, Philippines – The National Historical Institute (NHI) is looking into the possibility of filing a complaint against Journey’s Filipino front man Arnel Pineda.

In a phone interview, Teddy Atienza, chief of NHI’s Heraldry Section, disclosed that the board was not pleased when it heard Pineda’s version of “Lupang Hinirang” during the Manny Pacquiao-Joshua Clottey fight in the United States.

  1. Please, there are more important things in our country that need attention than Arnel's singing. This is so stupid. Also, please go take some sort of writing class if you are going to blog, you should have used did instead of do..and there are a lot of instances that you should use a comma.
