Reynaldo Lapuz has stolen the scene

I haven't watched the American Idol this week because I always arrive late. The last episode I was able to watch was the audition of another Filipino named Reynaldo Lapuz. That episode was truly a riot.

The aspiring American Idol entered the room with a wierd costume with Simon Cowell's name on his hat. And suddenly the judges started laughing. And when the guy started singing his song which is according to him his original composition "I am your brother", everyone including th host Ryan Seacrest was jiving and singing with him, as Simon Cowell says "one more time!".

But unfortunately the judges said "no". However Reynaldo Lapuz was still thankful to the judges for giving him a chance to sing to the world and said the Simon Cowell is a great person eventhough many people hates the Idol judge.

Wow! Pinoy's all over the world could really steal some scene. Watching that episode really made me laugh hard.

Pinoy Idol: Coming soon!

Pinoy Idol, the pinoy version of the Idol franchise will soon be aired on GMA-7. The show will be hosted by Raymond Gutierrez with judges Ogie Alcasid, Jolina Magdangal, and Wyngard Tracy. Auditions for the world reknowned talent search has already started. The show first aired on ABC 5 entitled Philippine Idol, but it did not do better in terms of ratings and advertisements, so Fremantle Media looked for a better partner to broadcast the show, and GMA was fortunate to acquire the rights for the talent search.

In the teaser shown in GMA, it says "be the first pinoy idol", does it mean they want a new winner? how about the first winner Mau Marcelo, does it mean her victory will be void? That we will find out when Pinoy Idol airs.

A little opinion of mine, "Pinoy idol" sounds better rather than than "Philippine Idol", it's more catchy. And second, the original franchise is called "American Idol" and not "America Idol".

Heath Ledger found dead

New York-The 28 year old Brokeback Mountain star and the Joker in the new Batman film "The Dark knight" was found dead inside his apartment in Manhattan. The actor's body was found naked, and faced down with sleeping pills beside his dead body. the actor's death was said to be caused by overdose.

Meanwhile Ledger's remains will be flown back to Australia for his burial. The actor's Fans, and fellow stars and family expressed their griefs for his death. Many felt disappointed for the actor because Ledger died at a very young age and being a good actor many sees a lot of opportunities for the actor.

Also payed tribute to the actor was his ex-fiance Michelle Williams, along with their daughter, they went to New York to condole with Heath Ledger.

Veteran actor Jack Nicholson was relates himself to the tragic death of Ledger, because according to him, he was also a victim of a sleeping pill.

How unfortunate for such a young and talented actor, he has such a great future in the show business but was put to waste by just a wrong prescription of a sleeping pill.

Britney is still No. 1

It has been a tough year for Britney Spears, since she got divorced from Kevin Federline , Britney was never the same again. The pop star was involved in controversies like when she got herself bald and voluntarily admitted herself inside a rehab. Britney also battled for her children's custody but sadly lost it after the court ordered that the custody of her two kids shall go to his ex-husband Kevin Federline due to her being uncooperative in the case, psychiatric incapability.

The pop star was also ordered to undergo medical check-ups and parental counseling, she was also charged for a hit and run. Britney Spears was also hospitalised due to a breakdown after Federline denied her of a visit to their children.

Lately, reports says that Spears and current boyfriend, paparazzo Adnan Ghalib has just got married after spotting the two in a church.

But in the positive side Britney Spears somehow made a successful comeback with her latest album "Blackout", it's first single "Gimme More" peaked number one at the Hot 100 singles chart, and the album itself debuted number 2 in the Hot 200 albums chart selling 290,000 copies.

And after all her difficulties, she's still has her family and friends behind her. I've always been a Britney fan, and for me she is still Number 1.

What now? for the Ultimate Survivor

After Starstruck 1 Ultimate Survivor Jennylyn Mercado confirmed her pregnancy, many fans are wondering what will happened to her career? Since it was stipulated in her exclusive contract with GMA Network that she is not allowed to get pregnant, the network immediately removed the actress and her boyfriend Patrick Garcia in the their supposedly afternoon teleserye "Maging Akin ka Lamang". The two were replaced by Nadine Samonte and Polo Ravales as the lead roles. The said teleserye had to reshoot some scenes because Patrick and Jen had already taped few episodes. Meanwhile, Jennylyn Mercado is also "no show" In the suspense drama series "La Vendetta". I noticed the change in the shows story lines, when Jen's character Almira no longer haunts the other characters about her tragic death.

I feel really disappointed for Jennylyn, at the peak of her career she got pregnant. During the time she was involved in the GMA-Angel Locsin conflict, she and manager Becky Aguila begged to GMA not to get her involved in the issue, so GMA was generous enough and gave her line of projects and guestings, and now that she hed all of those she need to get a hiatus for her pregnancy tsk tsk tsk!

Meanwhile, I have read from some news articles that Jennylyn's career will still push through inspite of her pregnancy, she is still finishing her latest album under GMA Records, and she will still promote her movie "Manila West Side Story" opposite international action star Jacky woo, and I've heard that her boyfriend Patrick Garcia is included in the cast of GMA's new primetime drama "Babangon Ako at Dudurugin Kita". Fans would have to watch for that.

Justin bags 5 Grammy Nominations

Good news to all Justin Timberlake fanatics! Our favorite former NSYNC member bags 5 Grammy nominations this year, including the Record of the year for What goes around comes around, Best male pop vocal performance also for What goes around comes around, Best pop collaboration with vocals along with Nelly Furtado and Timbaland for the song Give it to me, Best Dance recording for Love Stoned and finally the Best Rap song category for Ayo Technology with 50 Cent.

This is good start of a New Year for Justin Timberlake, If my memory serves me right, Justin have already won the Grammy Awards for Best Male Artist. When he was in NSYNC he never won any, so going solo was really a big step for the pop star.

Last Year Justin Timberlake swept the MTV Video Music Awards, but went home empty handed in the Europe Music Awards.

Will this year be Justin's moment? Will he sweep the Grammys? I would like to find out too. So at February 10 at the Staples Center, I'll stay tune and support Justin all the way. And all of Justin fanatics out there let's all hope the he wins.
