TJ Trinidad is now a Kapuso

Kapamilya Star TJ Trinidad is now a Kapuso. This is after he sign a contract with GMA 7 and he will be included in the cast of GMA 7's upcoming new soap "Zorro" starring Richard Gutierrez, TJ will play as Zorro's nemesis.

According to TJ, he was never really an exclusive ABS-CBN contract star, he works as per project and he also note that his management talked to ABS first before he moved to the Kapuso Network and the Kapamilya allowed him to do so.

TJ is now under the management of Annabelle Rama. This is not the first time that TJ will be working under the GMA banner, he worked with Richard Gutierrez and Angel Locsin before in the valentine movie The "Promise" which was a box office hit.

Do Re Mi TV Remake

Did I heard it right? GMA 7 is planning to do a TV remake of  VIVA Films' "Do Re Mi" which was topbilled by Donna Cruz, Mikee Cojuangco, and Regine Velasquez, and that the TV remake will be starred by Jennylyn Mercado, Yasmien Kurdi and Katrina Halili.

"Do Re Mi" was one of my favorite movie, it was shown back in the 90's when I was just a kid and I was a fan of both Donna Cruz and Mikee Coquanco. It's a story of friendship between three girls full of dreams.

But as of these moment I learned some few developments about these project. I learned that Katrina Halili will be out in the show for some reasons and she will be replaced by Rhian Ramos. The said soap is still in the process of construction and there are still no definite decision on who  among Jennylyn, Yasmien and Rhian will play the roles of  Donna Cruz, Mikee Cojuangco and Regine Velasquez. But I still hope that Katrina Halili is still in these thing because it will be nice to see three of them working together because all of them are Starstruck 1 graduates.

I'm excited about the TV remake of  "Do Re Mi" if it will push through, I can imagine Jennylyn, Yasmien, and Katrina singing the theme song of the movie which goes like this:

                                      "I can live, I can fly, I can reach the Heavens above
                                       I can right what is wrong, I can sing just any song"
Nice is'nt it?

"The Final Set"

Great news to all Eraserheads fan, it's confirmed that the group is gonna perform once again for the part 2 of their reunion concert that was cut short last year due to Ely Buendia's illness. The part 2 of the Eraserheads reunion concert is entitled "The Final Set"

Last Monday, January 19 the E-heads had a press conference and contract signing for their reunion concert. Ely Buendia, Raymund Marasigan, Buddy Zabala, and Marcus Adoro will be together once again to give all the Eraserheads fan a well deserve closure of their reunion concert last year. But this time they guaranteed a full concert and assured everyone that E-Heads vocalist Ely Buendia is in good health condition to perform. This will be the second time that the Eraserheads will perform together and could be the last time too.

"The Final Set" Eraserheads concert will be held on March 17 at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Ground.

GMA 7' s New Shows

GMA 7 has just introduced it's all new line-up of shows. The teaser of these shows have been airing for months, it has a tag line which goes something like "classic tales like you've never seen them before". These whole new line-up of program will start airing by February.

Robin Padilla returns to primetime after his two successfull series "Asian Treasures" and "Joaquin Bordado". This time he will play "Totoy Bato", a Carlo J. Caparas classic which was originally played by the late "Action King" Fernando Poe Jr. this masterpiece is a story about a boxer. The "Asia's Songbird will be Robin's leading lady in these soap, and he will also be joined by his other daughter Queenie Padilla and the "Pambansang Kamao" Manny Pacquiao.

The Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera love team is back in "Ang Babaing Hinugot Sa Aking Tadyang", this is also a Carlo J. Caparas classic which was originally played by Mr. Eddie Garcia and Ms. Vivian Velez in the 1981 film of the same title. This soap will be directed by Joyce Bernal. And according to the publicity write-ups, Marian Rivera is much more daring in this TV series.

The "King of  Primetime" Richard Gutierrez will be back on action as "Zorro", a classic novel of a "Vigilant" who faught against the Spaniards who invaded America, but because this is the Philippines, it will be a "Zorro" with a "Pinoy Touch". This action packed series will be directed by Dominic Zapata and Mark Reyes. GMA even had an audition to pick Richard's leading lady which could be the next rising star with the likes of  Isabe Oli and Rhian Ramos.

Brace yourself  for "All About Eve", a hit Korea Novela which now has a Pinoy taste. This soap is topbilled by two of GMA's most promising and talented actresses Ms. Iza Calzado and Ms. Sunshine Dizon. It's a story of two rival girls and how they fight for thier dreams and love. It's confirmed that Mark Anthony Fernandez will be their leading man in this soap, this is Mark's next project after "Luna Mystica". Other cast of the series are Richard Gomez, Eula Valdez and Jean Garcia. If you would recall, this is Eula Valdez and Jean Garcia's much anticipated reunion after "Pangako Sa'yo" in ABS-CBN which gave them a household name. Now thier taking that rivalry in the Kapuso Network.

GMA 7 has a lot more in stored for it's loyal viewers. Watch out for this whole new programs.

American Idol Season 8

American Idol Season 8 had officially started, the show is better than ever and on the track to search for the newest superstar on America. The reality talent search also introduced it's fourth judge Kara DioGuardi one of the most sought after songwriter and producer.

First stop for the AI audition was Phoenix Arizona, thousands have auditioned as usual. There were some funny characters who auditions who were hoping to be the next American Idol. But the one that caught everyones attention was the girl who wore a "Bikini", and that girl is seemed to be obsessed with AI host Ryan Seacrest. Judges Paula Abdul and Kara DioGuardi was kind a mad at her because of her actions but in the end she still made it through the audition and will be going to Hollywood.

German Moreno Forgives Billy Crawford

The "Master Showman" German "Kuya Germs" Moreno and Billy Crawford had finally reconcilled after having a little misunderstanding.

All this happened during the 23rd anniversary reunion of  "That's Entertainment". Billy Crawford, a former member of  "That's Entertainment" surprisedly appear in that event and gave Kuya Germs a big hug. And the "Master Showman" being a great man that he is and also like a father to Billy could'nt resist but to forgive him.

If you would recall, Kuya Germs and Billy had a gap between each other last year after Billy Crawford transferred to ABS-CBN, and Kuya Germs did'nt like that because according to him Billy never consulted him before transferring. And some even tought that Billy is avoiding Kuya Germs because it took time before he approach Kuya Germs.

A good way for them to start the New Year, they've been like father and son and it feels glad to see that they have reconcilled.

When I Met You

Richard Gutierrez and KC Concepcion are back on the bigscreen, this time via GMA Films and Regal Entertainment's Valentine Flick "When I Met You".

This flick is Richard and KC's second movie after Star Cinema's "For The First Time" which was a box office hit when it was shown last year. "When I Met You" is a part of the barter agreement between GMA Films and Star Cinema which allowed both Richard and KC to do a movie on both film outlets, and also gave way for both stars to team up together even if their from rival stations GMA and ABS-CBN.

"When I Met You" premieres on theaters on February Nationwide. This is a Valentine offering of GMA Films and Regal Entertainment  for all movie goers.

Ang Babaing Hinugot Sa Aking Tadyang

GMA 7 is now preparing for it's upcoming soap "Ang Babaing Hinugot Sa Aking tadyang" topbilled by the country's hottest love team Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera.

These upcoming GMA 7 soap is an adaptation of a classic 1981 komiks-to-movie masterpiece created by Carlo J. Caparas. The movie version was originally played by Vivian Velez and  showbiz legend Eddie Garcia. Dingdong and Marian has started taping their newest soap in Sta. Rosa Laguna.

"Ang Babaing Hinugot Sa Aking Tadyang" will be directed by Joyce Bernal who also directed Dingdong and Marian first two soaps "Marimar and "Dyesebel". "Ang Babaing Hinugot Sa Aking Tadyang" is said to be Dingdong and Marian's last project as loveteams and it will air soon on GMA Telebabad.

Tayong Dalawa

ABS-CBN has it's newest offering to all their loyal viewers, "Tayong Dalawa" top billed by the country's most promising young stars Gerald Anderson, Kim Chiu, and Jake Cuenca. Also starring top caliber and multi-awarded stars that will satisfy your primetime viewing.

"Tayong Dalawa" casts includes Helen Gamboa, Agot Isidro, Gina Pareno, Cherry Pie Picache, Alessandra de Rossi, Mylene Dizon, Baron Geisler, Miguel Faustman, Anita Linda, and Spanky Manikan.

"Tayong Dalawa" will feature the love triangle between Gerald Anderson, Kim Chiu, and Jake Cuenca. Gerald and Jake will play the role on Military Men so both of them had a "crew cut" hair style to make their roles realistic. This TV seriesis also something new for the Kim-Gerald love team, because unlike the roles they did before, these one is much more matured and will showcase more of their acting skills.

"Tayong Dalawa" will air on ABS-CBN Primetime Bida soon.

Eat Bulaga Turns 30 in 2009

The Philippines' longest running noontime show has just set a new record, just before 2008 ended, Eat Bulaga aired it's 8,817th episode since the show first went on the air on July 30 1979.

r presentation last January 1, 2009 one of the show's main man Joey De Leon repeatedly said that 2009 is the year of Eat Bulaga, because this 2009 Eat Bulaga will celebrate it's 30th Anniversary.

What Eat Bulaga has accomplished is truly a Milestone in  Philippine Television, being there for 30 years is never a joke because the show has able to withstand all changes and was able to remain for so many years.

According to Eat Bulaga's Executive Producer Ms. Malou Choa-Fagar, 2008 has been a rewarding and productive year for the longest running noontime show and all of them are very thankful for the blessings including the bonding and friendship between all the casts, staffs and crew.

Ms.Fagar promised that Eat Bulaga has many more stored surprises for Eat Bulaga's 30th Anniversary celebration.
