We have two ratings monitoring institute in the Philippines as we all know, the AGB Nielsen and Kantar Media, and they showed different results last week. In the AGB Mega Manila People Ratings, the rejuvenated TV Patrol failed to claim the top spot as it only settled third with a 10.7% ratings it was even beaten by TV5's "Willing Willie" which featured the debut of Valenzuela City Councilor Shalani Soledad as Willie Revillame's co-host, it garnered an 11.6% ratings tied with GMA 7's 24 Oras in the second place, that makes 24 Oras still the most watched primetime news program in the Philippines.
However in the Kantar Media National TV Ratings, TV Patrol managed to take the second spot with a 28% next to "Imortal" which garnered a 28.2% making it still the most watched primetime program Nationwide. 24 Oras got 19.5% and "Willing Willie" settled to the 12th spot with just a 14.5% rating.
The battle for primetime supremacy has just got more intense because of TV5's "Willing Willie", who would have thought that ABS-CBN's fallen TV host will shook off the two leading news programs of GMA-7 and ABS-CBN? at last TV5 got the job done courtesy of it's new owner Manny V. Pangilinan, the only job left for them to do is to sustain. And I heard a funny and intriguing gossip about the changes that happened in TV Patrol, ABS-CBN insiders said that GMA-7 got threatened by Noli and Korina's return in TV Patrol that's why the Kapuso Network showed some TVCs with people telling that they only trust 24 Oras when it comes to the latest and most reliable news, but the fact is it was ABS-CBN which was threatened and intimidated with the strength being showed by "Willing Willie", that's why they they brought back Noli and Korina jsut to make sure they will not get beaten by their now bitter enemy Willie Revillame. And they should stop calling it the "all new" TV Patrol because it's actually the vintage TV Patrol with it's vintage anchors coming back.
