"Si Agimat At Si Enteng Kabisote" Tops the Metro Manila Film Festival 2010

As expected, "Si agimat at si Enteng Kabisote" is the front-runner in the Metro Manila Film Festival with an estimated first day gross of P31 Million on Christmas Day.

Eversince it was announced that the "Titanic Action Star" Sen. Bong Revilla Jr. and Bossing Vic Sotto will do a collaboration for the 2010 Metro Manila Film Festival which is "Si Agimat at si Enteng Kabisote", many people made a prediction that this movie will be the top grosser for this year's Film Festival, and so far that prediction is becoming a reality and why not? Sen. Bong and Bossing Vic's MMFF entries have been top grossers in the past years.

On the other hand, Star Cinema's entry "Ang Tanging Ina, Last Na 'To" settles at the no. 2 spot wit an estimated gross of  P20 Million , that's unusual because the "Tanging Ina" series during the last previous MMFF's became the top grosser, there was even an instance when it beat "Iskul Bukol: 20 Years After" as the year's top grosser. But I think that the "Tanging Ina" Plot didn't evolve over the years, it's still has it's old antics, unlike Bossing Vic Sotto who never cease to reinvent the "Enteng Kabisote" series so that the movie goers will not get tired of watching it. Anyway it's just the first day, "Ang Tanging Ina, Last Na 'to" could still rally to make it to the top, but if ever it does not, maybe the movie goers have had enough of this movie and they are probably looking for something new.

Here is the unofficial first day gross of MMFF entries according to PEP Scoopbox:

1. Si Agimat at Si Enteng Kabisote – P31 million
2. Ang Tanging Ina, Last Na ‘To – P20 million
3. Dalaw – P12.5 million
4. Shake Rattle & Roll XII – P11.8 million
5. RPG: Metanoia – P5.1 million
6. Super Inday and the Golden Bibe – P4.7 million
7. Rosario – P3.2 million
8. Father Jejemon – P1.4 million
