Royal Rumble 2011 Results

I have here the results of the WWE Royal Rumble which was held earlier today. It was probably the most shocking Royal Rumble yet because it was filled with a lot of surprises, twists and upsets.

The Rated R Superstar Edge defeated the number one contender Dolph Ziggler and retains his World Heavyweight Championship, while Edge's Raw counterpart the WWE Champion The Miz also retains his title after defeating Randy Orton. A new WWE Divas Champion was crowned after Eve won the Fatal 4-Way Match for the Divas Championship.

Two Superstars made their shocking return during the 40-Men Royal Rumble Match, it was Booker T who entered the Rumble as the 21st participant and The Big Daddy Cool Diesel/Kevin Nash who entered at no. 29. The rumors were true that this two superstars would make their return in the Rumble Match as the surprise entrance.

The entire 40-Men Royal Rumble Match was dominated by two of the most powerful stables in WWE today, The Corre lead by Wade Barrett and the New Nexus lead by CM Punk. This two group literally ganged up like a pack of wolves and did a number on the other Rumble Participants, but in the end one man stood tall above them all. The man who promised that he will headline Wrestle Mania because he was destined to do so, it's Alberto Del Rio. The Mexican royalty entered at no. 38. He will have a shot at either the World Heavyweight Championship or the  WWE Championship at the grandest stage of them all, Wrestle Mania 27.

I'm sure the WWE Universe is still in shock after Alberto Del Rio won the Rumble Match. His victory shuts all his critics and will make Michael Cole's mouth a lot louder. The WWE is really giving this guy Del Rio a big push. And what about John Cena? since he didn't win the Rumble Match, his feud against the New Nexus is far from over, and he could be heading in a much bigger predicament because we saw the other week on Raw that The Corre also wants a piece of Cena. Will it be John Cena against the New Nexus and The Corre? But also during the Rumble Match, when CM Punk entered at no.1, Wade Barrett and the rest of The Corre ganged up against him and there was a war between them and the New Nexus, is the WWE Universe going to see another gang warfare just like the Degeneration X and The Nation feud during the Attitude era? But whatever you say, 2011 is an exciting year for WWE.
