Reports also said that the hosts of this upcoming noontime show from the Kapamilya Network will be Randy Santiago, John Estrada, Mariel Rodriguez and Toni Gonzaga, some reports also includes the name of Aiai Delas Alas. Both Randy and John worked with "Willing Willie" host Willie Revillame in the defunct noontime shows "Magandang Tanghali Bayan" and "Masayang Tanghali Bayan". Mariel Rodriguez was also a co-host of Willie Revillame in "Wowowee" is now also defunct. Aiai Delas Alas also became a co-host of "Magandang Tanghali Bayan" and MTB: Ang Saya Saya!. On the other hand, Toni Gonzaga was a former co-host of the Longest Running and still Unbeatable noontime show "Eat Bulaga!" which is seen on GMA-7 from Monday to Saturday. Toni Gonzaga in fact started her hostin career on EB and she was the one who started the EB catch praise "Dabarkads" (naaalala ko yon).
After the loss of "Wowowee" and Willie Revillame, ABS-CBN couldn't come up with new noontime show that will topple the giant "Eat Bulaga!". "Pilipinas Win na Win!", that was a huge slap in their faces, the star power of Robin Padilla and Kris Aquino wasn't enough to put them back on track, it was even reformatted but still the show was axed. This time, the Kapamilya Network is planning to bring back their very own fathers of noontime show. But let us go back down memory lane on what happened when Randy and John were still ABS-CBN's defunct noontime show "Magandang Tanghali Bayan". John, Randy and Willie were the trio that made up the noontime show, they nearly took down "Eat Bulaga!", but because of Willie Revillame's arrogance and despicable actions he was fired from the show, John Estrada and Randy Santiago remained but during those days MTB ratings was already slumping, "Eat Bulaga!" held them with up to a 20% advantage in the ratings until they were finally crushed. Aiai Delas Alas replaced Willie Revillame but even her antics weren't enough to make them stay on air.
After "Magandang Tanghali Bayan" got axed, it was replaced with "MTB: Ang Saya Saya!" it earned a lot of criticisms because the titled was plagiarized from Eat Bulaga's famous catch praise "Ang Saya Saya!". A lot of critics also questioned why Randy Santiago and John Estrada were not included in that show because they were dubbed as the foundations of ABS-CBN's noontime show. Ai Ai Delas Alas was a part of "MTB: Ang Saya Saya!" but again "Eat Bulaga!" was just to much for them.
Now how about Mariel Rodriguez, she was on of Willie Revillame's co-host in "Wowowee", but then Willie left the show, the Kapamilya Network replaced it with "Pilipinas Win na Win" and they intended to use her romantic involvement to Mariel's current husband Robin Padilla to attract viewers but even that didn't worked for the show.
In ABS-CBN's plan on putting together John Estrada, Randy Santiago, Mariel Rodriguez and Ai Ai Delas Alas, they should have a second thought about it, because they are only putting together those people who were part of their former shows that attempted to surpass the staying powers of "Eat Bulaga!" but ended into failure. And remember, the Kapamilya Network once ousted John and Randy from their shows because they believed that the were not the best men for the job and now they are bringing them back.
The only bright side that I see in this upcoming noontime show from ABS-CBN is Toni Gonzaga, because no one can deny her hosting skills and comedic antiques to keep the viewers lively. But Toni was once a part of "Eat Bulaga!", and I remember very well when she transferred to ABS-CBN, she made a promise that she will not accept any show that would compete with her former Dabarkads. Because eventhough she switched networks, her loyalty and gratitude remains with "Eat Bulaga!" she considers it as a true family and she also considers Tito, Vic and Joey as her mentors. I remember that Toni Gonzaga was offered to be one Wowowee's co-host but she declined the offer due to her loyalty with "Eat Bulaga!", and upto now eventhough she is recognized as a Kapamilya, she still spends sometime to visit Broadway during an "Eat Bulaga!" show. So I doubt whether Toni will accept this new show. If she does, then that means that she is not true with what she said before, and besides she still got some issues with Mariel Rodriguez.
And to finish this article, Willie Revillame expressed his ill feelings with former colleagues Randy Santiago and John Estrada because they accepted ABS-CBN's offer and decline the other offer made by TV 5, Willie Revillame also quashed Kapamilya's plan of doing a new noontime show. He said that once ABS-CBN's newest noontime show starts airing, he would regularly plug "Eat Bulaga!" in "Willing Willie". He also adviced the Kapamilya Network to just come up with a different show rather than a noontime show because whatever they do, they will not beat "Eat Bulaga!". Listen to this guy, I'm not a fan of Willie, I don't even like his antics but as much as I hate to admit it, Willie is the only one who can match or even defeat "Eat Bulaga!" he has proven it before, but is he open for possibilities that he might find himself going head to head with "Eat Bulaga!" once again? I mean why not, "Willing Willie" is such a monster in the primetime, it now has a large number of followers, haven't the TV 5 executives thought that "Willing Willie" could be a threat to Eat Bulaga's reign? Maybe not now, because Vic Sotto and Joey De Leon are both TV 5's Kapatid
