NBA Soon to Air on ABS-CBN and Studio 23

After ABS-CBN Sports and Solar TV Networks had an agreement to air the PBA(Philippine Basketball Association) live games on Studio 23, the two networks have also signed an agreement to air the NBA(National Basketball Association) on Studio 23 and ABS-CBN. The NBA telecasts will start on February 19, 2011. The regular season games will be broadcast on Studio 23 the Kabarkada Network, while the Playoffs and Finals will be seen on ABS-CBN 2.


Here is ABS-CBN's statement regarding the deal with Solar TV:

ABS-CBN Corporation thanks Solar TV Network for entrusting to the Kapamilya Network the free TV  telecast of the National Basketball Association (NBA) games starting 19 February 2011. As part of a co-production agreement, ABS-CBN will be airing the NBA games on Studio 23, which would be a perfect fit to the Kabarkada Network’s sports and entertainment programming. The playoffs and finals will be aired over ABS-CBN nationwide.

Filipino sports fans can be assured that ABS-CBN, the country’s largest multimedia conglomerate, will continue to offer only the best in sporting events and specials. And our partner Solar TV can be assured of the all-out support that ABS-CBN is giving in bringing the NBA brand closer to more Filipino homes.

This is a great deal between Solar TV and ABS-CBN, finally, the world's most popular league is now being broadcast in the country's largest TV Network. Filipino Basketball fans can now watch a more updated and a clearer broadcast of the NBA. Now I'm hoping that Solar TV would also give the broadcast rights of WWE Raw and Smackdown on Studio 23, so far WWE Superstars are being broadcast on Studio 23. It would be nice to watch WWE Raw, WWE Smackdown and all the WWE pay-per-views on ABS-CBN programming
