Googbye Mae Flores

Another Pinoy Idol Hopeful was eliminated last night in the Pinoy Idol's second elimination night, this time it was Mae Flores.

It was indeed a star studded night as Rock Icon Jet Pangan, former child star turned singer Aiza Seguerra, Singer composer Rey Valera, and Jaimie Rivera were sitting in the front row seat to watch the 11 remaining hopefuls.

The 11 remaining hopefuls performed "Umbrella" for the opening number. Then Host Raymond Gutierrez called the 11 finalists one by one to announce who got the lowest votes from the viewers and they were Warren Antig, Mae Flores and Toffer Rei.

Warren and Toffer were asked to take their seat leaving Mae Flores which only means that she is out of the Idol scene and Mae shed some tears in her eyes while performing her final song "If I didn't Love you" by Tina Arena.

Now there are only 10 Idol hopefuls remaining, they are Penelope, Jayann Bautista, Gretchen Espina, Sue Ellen, Ram Chaves, Kid Camaya, Daryl Celis, Warren Antig, Toffer Rei, and Robby Navarro.

Ikaw Lang Lyrics and MP3

Here is the Love Theme for Joaquin Bordado entitled "Ikaw Lang", performed by Shamrock. I love this one specially the other version featuring Maricris Garcia, but I can't find that, but this one sounds good too.

Ikaw lang
Shamrock(OST Jaoquin Burdado)

Verse I
Lagi, naghahanap itong Puso
Nang iyong kalinga
Hindi, nagagalaw itong mundo
Pag wala ka sinta

Refrain I
Paano na ang mga araw
Kung wala sa piling mo
Bawat sandaling lumilipas
Nababago ng mundo

Chorus
Ikaw lang ang kailangan
Upang maituloy ang mga nasimulan
Ikaw lang ang iibigin
Bawat sandali ng aking buhay
Sa aking mga sinasabi magtiwala ka
Ang tangi kong kailangan ikaw lang

Interlude

Verse II
Kapag, ang pagmamahal na alay ko
Sana'y pakinggan mo
Giliw, huwag kang lilisan
Dito ka lang sa tabi ko

Refrain II
yakap moy aking kailangan
Upang di lamigin
At hindi kita iiwan kahit kailan
pangako yan.

Repeat Chorus
Repeat Refrain I
Repeat Chorus

Ang tangi kong kailangan ikaw lang

The Final 12 Minus One

Despite of Heavy Rains and Strong Winds caused by Typhoon Frank yesterday, the first elimnination night of Pinoy Idol still took place at the SM Mall of Asia. And the first victim, Jeni Rawolle.

The 12 Idol hopefuls gave a nice production number in the beginning of the show, performing "Stand By Me". Along with Jeni at the bottom 3 were Sue Ellen, and Daryl. Last Saturday in their first GALA Performance Jeni sang "Inseperable". Wyngard Tracy said that Jeni is just good as Lounge Singer. Sue Ellen got positive feedback from the judges, however Wyngard said that he doesnt see Sue as the first Pinoy Idol. For Daryl, Jolina said that he cannot justify RnB, and Wyngard added that Daryl is just a star material, and he is like all the stars who are trying to sing.

In the end it was Jeni Rawolle who said goodbye after getting the lowest text votes from the viewers.

Celtics are Champions!

The Boston Celtics won this years NBA Finals and earned their 17th NBA Championship after beating the Los Angeles Lakers 131-92 in Game 6.

After 22 years of waiting, the Boston Celtics finally earned their 17Th world Championship in their home town of Boston Massachusetts. Right from the star of the game, Boston showed tough defense against Los Angeles as the crowd yelled "Beat LA" that boost their spirit even more.

Paul Pierce scored 17 points and was hailed as the Finals MVP, Kevin Garnett lead the Celtics with 24 points and 14 rebounds.

The game was so lop sided for the Lakers that lost with a huge 39 point deficit. MVP Kobe Bryant did not get any good shot as the Boston Defense bothered him all through out the game.

The Boston Celtics Hall of Famer Bill Russel was their to witness the historic win for Boston.

That 131-92 victory of Boston break the record of the biggest winning margin in NBA Finals. The other one was in 1965 where the Celtics also beat The Lakers 126-96.

The Lakers are still Alive!

The Los Angeles Lakers are still alive in the NBA Finals and they prevented the Boston Celtics from winning their 17Th World Championship with a 103-98 win on Game at the Staples Center closing the series to 3-2.

Kobe Bryant scored 25 points, Lamar Odom added 20 points, Pau Gasol had 19 points and 13 rebounds, and Derek Fisher added 15 points for the Lakers. Just like in Game 4, the Boston Celtics rallied from a 19 points deficit and managed to cut the lead 97-95 courtesy of the two free throws made by Paul Pierce who scored 38 points in the game. But a crucial still by Kobe to Pierce earned the MVP a big slam dunk with 37.4 remaining gave the Lakers a comport able lead.

Kevin Garnett scored 13 points and 14 rebounds for Boston and Ray Allen added 16 points.

The Series will return to Boston for Game 6 and the Celtics will try to finish the series in their hometown, but expect the Lakers to play tough as they try to force a Game 7 which will also be played in Boston.

And just when you think that all odds are stacked against the Lakers, Boston also got one odd to defy. The Celtics already played 25 games in this post season. No team that played 25 games in the finals won the series and became Champion, with the likes of New York in 1994 and Detroit in 2005 who managed to play up to Game 7 but ended up losing.

Pinoy Idol vs. Pinoy Dream Academy

The Battle for Talent Search Supremacy has officially started. It's between GMA 7's Pinoy Idol and ABS-CBN's Pinoy Dream Academy.

I remember last year this two Talent Search also battled it out, Pinoy Idol was Philippine Idol at that time and was airing at ABC-5 and Pinoy Dream Academy airs on ABS-CBN and both shows were hosted by Ryan Agoncillo. Both of this contest was quashed by critics during that time because of low ratings.

Now there getting it on again, this time Pinoy Idol is now seen on GMA 7 now hosted by Raymond Gutierrez, and Pinoy Dream Academy on ABS-CBN is hosted by Billy Crawford and Toni Gonzaga.

Pinoy Idol has been airing for weeks, and this Sunday the Final 12 will be chosen. But unfortunately, Pinoy Idol is getting negative feed backs from the critics. One of the things being criticize in the show is the stage, GMA seemed to have made a cost cutting for the stage it,s so small and the audience can be counted by fingers, and they are all relatives and friend of the contestant. Another is the hosting style of Raymond Gutierrez, he is so socialite and cannot interact with the masses. And finally, the contestant, they have no x-factor actually I'm wondering, are there really people wasting their loads to vote for the contestant? And the way they choose the song and performs, it seemed their only singing in a karaoke contest. And last Friday one of the contestant Sue Ellen sang "Thank You" by Dido, give the viewers a break, that song is not for prestigious competition, it's only for School program.

While on the Pinoy Dream Academy's side, the stage is amazing and the audience are lively. And Toni Gonzaga and Billy Crawford does one heck of a good hosting job. And I find the contestant talented, they choose nice songs and does a very high performance level. Very far from what the Pinoy Idol contestants are showing.

TV Ratings

Here are the TV Ratings result fro June 11-12, 2008. Dyesebel still remains the no. 1 program in the country, and Pinoy Dream Academy made it to the Top 10 Primetime, but there's no Pinoy Idol in the Top 10 rankings. You will notice that a lot of people watched the Burial Coverage of Rudy Fernandez, and GMA's coverage got higher ratings than ABS-CBN's own coverage. "Pati ba naman yun pinaglabanan pa ang Ratings".

One more for the Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics are just one win away from winning the Championship after a 97-91 win today in Game 4 of the NBA Finals 2008.

The Lakers seemed to have the momentum in the first quarter after shooting 11 of 17 field goals and putting up a huge 24 point lead against the Celtics, the Lakers seemed to have collapsed in the next three quarters when Boston maid a big comeback a taking the victory.

Paul Pierce scored 20 pts, Garnett addedd 16 pts and 11 rebounds and Ray Allen had 19 pts to lead the Celtics. While Kobe Bryant had 19 pts with 6-of-9 field goals, Lamar Odom also had 19 pts, and Pau Gasol made 17 pts plus 10 rebounds. With this "Big Collapse" by the Lakers, they are now down 3-1 in the series which makes the situation scary for them because no team had came back from a 3-1 deficit in the NBA Finals history, and Boston could be one win away from winning their 17Th World Championship.

But despite of this lost, I still believe that the Lakers can do something about this. Game 5 will still be held at the Staples Center, they could win it and just play hard in Game 6 and 7 on Boston Garden, the Lakers have beaten many odds in their entire existence as a team in the NBA and they've defied many statistics and history. Who knows, they could be the first team to ever win after being down 3-1 in the finals. It ain't over until they loose in Game 5, so Lakers, pull yourselves together please.

Lakers Beat Celtics in Game 3

Lakers Superstar Kobe Bryant proved why he is the MVP after leading the Lakers in an 87-81 win over the Celtics in Game 3 of the NBA Finals 2008.

After their sloppy play in Games 1 & 2, the Los Angeles Lakers finally took a victory in their home town of Los Angeles. One more lost could have put the Lakers in a 3-0 deficit, and in the history of NBA no team was able to come back to win from a 3-0 deficit. Kobe Bryant scored 36 points and Vujavic added20 points including 3 triples and one of those Threes gave the Lakers an 81-76 lead with 1:53 remaining in the game.

Pau Gasol made two crucial baskets in the fourth quarter and Derek Fisher made two charity shots in the crucial minute of the game. For the Boston Celtics, Ray Allen made 25 points and Kevin Garnett added 13 points.

Game 4 will still be at Staples Center where the Lakers remains undefeated(9-0) in the Playoffs won 15 straight games for 3 months while Celtics are 2-8 in the postseason.

The Lakers cannot afford relax after that Game 3 win, their still down 2-1 and they have to make it tie with 2 all to avoid being down 3 games to 1, I don't remember any team that came back form 3-1 and won the finals, just like the Lakers did back in 2004 where they got beaten by Detroit 4-1. Good luck Lakers!!!

The Celtics up 2-0 vs. Lakers in The NBA Finals

Yesterday the Boston Celtics took a 2-0 lead vs. the Lakers Game 2 of the NBA Finals 2008. Paul Pierce despite of hurting his knee in Game 1 lead the celtics in a 108-102victory against the Lakers scoring 28 points.

The Lakers showed a sloppy kind of defense all throughout Game 2, while Boston showed a tough defense just like in Game 1. The Boston Celtics open the 4th quarter with a whoping 22 point lead and in the remaining 7:55 of the game, the Celtics were up by 95-71. The Celtics were already rejoicing with that lead, Paul Pierce was even laughing but as usual the Los Angeles Lakers made a 14-2 run cutting the Celtics lead by just 2 points(104-102).But Paul Pierce cut into the basket and drew a foul from Pau Gasol and made 2 free throws making the score 106-102. Sasha Vujavic immediately fired a three but was blocked by Pierce, The Lakers fouled and with two more free throws with not much time left, the Celtics took victory in Game 2. Game 3 will be Tuesday night(Wednesday morning in Manila) this time in Staples Center in Los Angeles were the Lakers are undefeated for 2 months.

I just niticed something about the C/S Sports Broadcast on RPN 9, the announcer Quinito Henson was so bias about his calling of the game. For 48 minutes of the game our TV sets were flooded by his praises for the Celtics and he quashed the Lakers with his comments. Over the years he hasnt changed, he will cheer for any team in the Finals but not the Lakers.

Farewell Daboy

After two years of battle against cancer, Philippine Showbiz Icon passed away yesterday at 6:15 a.m at the age of 56. Present in the actors wake are his showbiz friends, some fans and of course his family.

In 2006, Daboy was diagnosed with Periampullary cancer. The kind of cancer that attacks the liver. The actor along with his wife tried everything to cure the disease, they went to America and Japan to find a solution for the decease but the cancer was already at stage 4 by this last May.

After being confined being confined for months, his bring him home. Even at the worst condition Daboy and LT showed strength and braveness, they were always positive that they will be able to endure the trials.

Daboy's last movie was Hula Mo Huli Ko with Rufa Mae Quinto, and was last seen on TV in Atlantika with Dingdong Dantes.

Condolences to the family of Rudy Fernandez, and I'm sure that the Filipinos are proud to have you.

Ako Si Kim Sam Soon

From the same network thet brought us the Phenomenal Pinoy version of the Mexican Teledrama "Marimar", GMA 7 is bringing us another sure to be hit Telebabad show, this time it's the Pinoy adaptation of the hit Koreanovela "My Name is Kim Sam Soon".

My Name Is Kim Sam Soon was originally portrayed by Korean Queen of Comedy Kim Seon-ah and Hyun Bin as Cyrus Hyun in the Tagalog dub. The story is about a woman at about 30 years old whose name is Kim Sam Soon, she is single and chubby. One of her frustration in life is to change her name that doesnt sound nice. Another is her love life, because of being overweight Sam Soon doesnt have a boyfriend, he had one before but it broke up with her.

Sam Soon has a great skill in baking she is a Patissier. One day she met a rude and snob guy named Cyrus Hyun an owner of a bake shop, and an incident happened that lead Cyrus to hire her service a Patissier for his restaurant. The two didn't get along at first but later fell in love with each other.

This time The Asia's Song Bird Ms. Regine Velasquez will play the role of Kim Sam Soon, now it will be called "Ako Si Kim Sam Soon", with Mark Anthony Fernandez as Cyrus Hyun. Also starring are Nadine Samonte as Hanna Yoo(Cyrus ex-girlfriend) and Dr. Hayden Kho as Dr. Henry Kim(Hanna Yoo's Doctor). Other Casts of the series are Wendell Ramos, Pauleen Luna, Jenica Garcia, Mart Escudero, John Lapuz, and the newest Kapuso Eugene Domingo.

I just have one comment about GMA's version of Kim Sam Soon, why is Regine Velasquez looks so ugly in the series? In the original Kim Sam Soon is pretty, her only problem is her weight not her face.

Maskman Cast

I have gathered some unofficial informations about the cast of ABS-CBN's adaptation of Hikari Sentai Maskman. Gerald Anderson is on the top of the list, he will play Red Mask(Michael Joe), Kim Chiu as Pricess Rio, Matt Evans as Blue Mask(Adrian), and Maja Salvador as Pink Mask(Mary Rose) and Albert Martines as Director Zugata the Mentor of the Maskman. I have no infos on who will play Yellow Mask(Eloisa) and Black Mask(Leonard).

Now for the Villians who will make life miserable for the heroes, Michael De Mesa as Emperor Zeba, the leader of the Tube Empire, Kristine Hermosa as Icabu(Princess Rio's sister and Right hand of the Emperor Zeba)

Again this is not an official information, just some buzz around the town, but I will give a complete update as soon as ABS-CBN reveals the final cast of Characters.

I'm a little bit exited about this Maskman thing, it's one of my favorite show, it seems for the first time I will watch a show from th Kapamilya Network.

Dragon Ball, Now on Big Screen

I've heard many rumors before that American movie outfits are planning to put Dragon Ball on the big screen. At first I thought that it was the "Forbidden Kingdom", because that movie was based on the novel "The Monkey King" where the Anime Dragon Ball was also based. Until I found some articles and pictures of the movie adaptation of Dragon Ball on the web.

Dragon Ball was a hit anime series in Asia and in U.S. created by Japanese author Akira Toriyama. It's the story of seven mythical balls that when gathered together will sum-on a magical Dragon named "Shendron" and will grant any wish no matter what it may be.

Justin Chatwin will play the role of Goku, a boy who lived in the wilderness with his Grandfather Son Gohan who trained him. Other characters in the film are Chow-Yun Fat as "Master Rochi" or "Master Kame" in the local dub; Jamie Chung as "Chi-Chi", Goku's childhood friend and soon became his wife; Joon Park as "Yam-cha", Goku's ally and friend; Emmy Rossum as "Bulma", Goku's friend and his partner in gathering the Dragon Balls; and James Masters as "Piccolo", the villain.

I haven't seen any teaser of the film, but one of the story plot I read is that the story will be more of the "Piccolo Saga", Goku needs to gather all the Drago Ball before Piccolo. Of course there will be a slight different from the original anime series, but still It will be as good as the anime.

Billy Crawford is back!

Last Friday, International Singing Sensation Billy Crawford arrived in Manila. And immediately after he arrived ABS-CBN introduced him to the press as a new Kapamilya and will be hosting ABS-CBN's talent search Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2.

In that said Press con Billy answered all the issues being thrown against him including his controversial transfer to ABS-CBN from GMA. Billy clarified that it was his management YMPM which handles his career in the U.S. who negotiated with Endemol, the franchise owner of the Academy Series and Pinoy Dream Academy it's Philippine counterpart. Billy added that he also hosted the Star Academy in France which is now on it's ninth season.

Billy no longer wants to comment about German Moreno's ill feelings for him and added that he wants to talk to Kuya Germs personally. We know for a fact that Kuya Germs got hurt when he heard that Billy will be tranferring to ABS-CBN after being a Kapuso last year when he did GMA's reality dance show "Move" and aside Billy was a part of German Moreno defunct "That's Entertainment" and was a father to Billy.

After the Press Conference, Billy sing a contract that makes him officially as a Kapamilya for at least three months, yes three months, because he needs to come back to Europe by September to do his other commitments. Aside from hosting PDA Season 2, Billy will also be seen on ABS-CBN's Sunday noontime show ASAP '08, and is currently doing an album in the States which is expected to be released by December or earlier.
